Is it just a viewer or can I edit?

Both. Code mode gives you a full-text editor for your Markdown source. Split mode shows your source and rendered preview side by side with synchronized scrolling, so you can edit and see changes in real time.

Does it support mermaid diagrams?

Not currently. ShowMeMyMD is focused on text and code rendering — headings, lists, tables, task lists, fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting, and GitHub-style callouts. Mermaid support may come in a future update.

What markdown spec does it use?

GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM). That means full support for tables, task lists, fenced code blocks, strikethrough, and GitHub-style callouts (note, tip, important, warning, caution).
